I've been going through a Mick Harvey phase lately. Best known for his work with Nick Cave, he also has a number of solo albums and film soundtracks worth investigating. I'm rather partial to his Serge Gainsbourg tributes, Intoxicated Man and Pink Elephants, which capture the essence of the man and his music through fresh translations and spirited interpretations. Whether covering the work of other artists or singing his own songs, Harvey has talent and integrity to spare. Here are a few favorites.
